Living Room

The living room rug sets the tone for the whole space. Choose a size that lets your seating gather around it: at least the front legs of the sofa and chairs should rest on the rug, so the room reads as one connected group. In open floor plans, a well-sized rug quietly marks out the sitting area from the rest of the room.

Tip: leave about 12 to 18 inches of bare floor between the rug and the walls. When in doubt, go one size larger.

Care Guide

A handmade rug is made to last for generations. A few simple habits keep it clean, soft and beautiful for years to come.

Everyday Care

Vacuum regularly so dust and grit do not settle deep into the pile.
Use suction only or a single beater bar on a low setting. Avoid strong rotating brushes.
Vacuum in the direction of the pile, and keep the vacuum off the fringe.
Shake out or lightly beat small rugs outdoors from time to time.

Spills & Stains

Act quickly. Blot spills right away with a clean white cloth. Never rub.
Work from the outside of the spot toward the center so it does not spread.
For spot cleaning, use cool water with a little mild, clear detergent, then blot with plain water.
Avoid harsh chemicals and bleach, which can damage or fade natural fibers.
Let the area air dry fully, and keep the rug away from excessive moisture.

Deep Cleaning

Handmade rugs are not machine washable.
Have your rug professionally cleaned every one to three years, or as needed for high-traffic rooms.

Placement & Rug Pads

Use a non-skid rug pad on smooth floors. It keeps the rug in place, adds cushion and helps it wear evenly.
Rotate the rug every six to twelve months so foot traffic and sunlight are spread evenly.
Limit long hours of direct sunlight to help keep the colors rich.
Place furniture cups or protectors under heavy pieces to prevent crushing the pile.

What Is Normal

New wool rugs shed loose fibers for the first few months. This slows down with regular vacuuming and is not a defect.
Never pull a loose yarn end. Trim it level with the pile using scissors.
Small variations in color (abrash) and in the weave are signs of a rug made by hand.
Fold lines from shipping relax within a few days once the rug lies flat.

Shipping

Orders are processed within 24–48 hours and ship by ground service.
Sent by FedEx, UPS or a freight carrier, depending on size. Rugs 9x12 and larger may come by freight and need a delivery appointment.
You'll get an email with tracking as soon as your rug ships.
Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories need a shipping quote. We don't ship internationally, to P.O. Boxes or to APO/FPO addresses.

When it arrives

Creases from shipping are normal. Lay the rug flat and they relax within a few days.
Handmade rugs vary slightly from the listed size. That's part of handmade work, not a defect.
Inspect freight deliveries before signing and note any damage to the packaging.
Keep the packaging for a few days in case you return or exchange.

Returns & exchanges

Request a return or exchange within 14 days of delivery. The rug must be in new, showroom condition: unused, with no stains, pet hair or odors.

Email info@arshs.com with "Return" or "Exchange," your order number and the item number.
We reply within 2 business days with your RMA number and instructions.
Roll or fold the rug and pack it the way it arrived.
Ship it back. Once it's inspected, we process your refund or exchange.

Returns without an RMA number, or after 14 days, can't be accepted. Unauthorized returns may have a 25% restocking fee.

Return shipping is paid by the customer unless the rug arrived damaged or defective.
Exchanges: tell us the size, color or style you'd like instead, and we'll charge or credit any difference.

Damaged in transit

Contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number, tracking number and clear photos. We'll send a replacement or credit your purchase, and you never pay return shipping on a damaged rug.

Refunds

Refunds go back to your original payment method. Card refunds usually appear within 14 business days.
Afterpay, Klarna and Shop Pay Installments adjust your payment schedule automatically.

Final sale

Rug pads (cut to size), clearance items and custom-made rugs can't be returned.

About this rug

Red carnations, navy tulips and sprays of small leaves spread across a bright turquoise ground in a lively, hand-drawn style. The turquoise and red together give it a cheerful, Mediterranean feel. It is available in 6 colorways: Turquoise, Grey, Lavender, Green, Red and Navy Blue.

Carnations and tulips were favorite flowers of Ottoman artists and appear on the famous Iznik tiles of the 1500s, often in exactly this turquoise and red combination. This pillow is jacquard woven in Turkey on heavy chenille, so the flowers are woven into the fabric, and the chenille is soft with a gentle sheen. Gold tassels hang from each corner, and the design is on both sides. It is filled with soft, hypoallergenic polyfill.

Use it on a sofa, an accent chair, a bed or a window seat. It suits bohemian, eclectic and Mediterranean rooms, and it pairs well with kilim pillows and Turkish rugs. Since both sides carry the design, you can flip it to spread out the wear.
