Bohemian Mercer Turkish Hand-Woven Kilim Pillow

A soft gray dot grid sits at the heart of cream and aqua angled bands on a red ground. The centered motif makes it a natural focal point on a sofa or bed. This rust, blue and gray kilim throw pillow measures 18 x 18 inches (46 x 46 cm) and is hand woven in Turkey, so no two are exactly alike.

Boho kilim pillows are one of the most loved ways to add global style to a home, because every handmade piece is different. The front is a hand woven wool kilim. A kilim is a flat weave, so the wool threads are woven tightly in and out by hand instead of being knotted, which gives the pattern its crisp, stepped edges. The hand-spun wool shows soft, natural shifts in color, called abrash, and with no pile to crush or shed it stays smooth and durable. It has a cotton back and a soft, hypoallergenic polyfill insert.

Use it on a reading nook, an entryway bench or a daybed. For a clean, modern look, use a pair on a minimalist sofa; for a relaxed boho look, layer it with throws, rattan and plants.
