Boho Chic Turkish Vivien Hand Woven Kilim Throw Pillow

A pale green and orange diamond sits between two tall columns of orange and teal triangles. With the design centered, it looks finished from across the room. At 18 x 18 inches (46 x 46 cm), this hand woven Turkish kilim throw pillow in rust, blue and teal adds instant color and texture.

Kilims have been woven by hand in Anatolia for centuries, and their bold geometric motifs are some of the most recognized designs in textile art. The front is a hand woven wool kilim. A kilim is a flat weave, so the wool threads are woven tightly in and out by hand instead of being knotted, which gives the pattern its crisp, stepped edges. The hand-spun wool shows soft, natural shifts in color, called abrash, and with no pile to crush or shed it stays smooth and durable. It has a cotton back and a soft, hypoallergenic polyfill insert.

Try it on a guest bed, a leather sofa or a porch swing. Designer tip: pair it with a solid linen pillow in one of its colors and a simple stripe, so the kilim pattern stays the star.
