Fine beige scrollwork and small blossoms wind across a dark blue ground. The pattern runs across the whole field, so it looks balanced from any angle. It is an eclectic modern 10x14 area rug in blue and beige.
This handmade wool rug is one of a kind, hand knotted from a blend of hand-spun local wool and fine merino wool and colored with natural vegetable dyes extracted from local plants. Those dyes create an abrash, a soft shift in shade within a single color. Hand-spun wool takes natural dye a little differently from batch to batch, so the variation is normal and is one of the signs of a true handmade rug. After knotting, the pile is trimmed to a moderate thickness, then stone-washed and sun-dried for a natural sheen and a comfortable feel underfoot.
It holds a full living room seating group, a dining table for six to eight, or a spacious primary bedroom. The blue and beige tones work in contemporary, coastal, and mid-century modern interiors, and they pair easily with gray, white, and natural wood. The scrolling vines lean transitional and soften clean-lined, modern furniture.
