This handmade wool rug is one of a kind, hand knotted from hand-spun, natural vegetable dyed wool in a mix of merino, New Zealand, and Ghazni wool. The rust field may show an abrash, a gentle change of shade within one color. It is normal in handmade rugs, because hand-spun wool takes natural dye a little differently from batch to batch. The curves of the flowers and vines are drawn knot by knot, which keeps their outlines sharp. The pile is trimmed to a moderate thickness, then stone-washed and sun-dried for a natural sheen across the full 9'11'' x 13'5''.
