A faint floral pattern and border show through a field of deep plum purple. Because the design is tone on tone, the color leads and the pattern is a quiet second layer. It is a 10x13 overdyed area rug in purple.
Hand knotted in all natural dyed, hand-spun wool, this rug is one of a kind. The rug was then sun faded for three to six months, so the sun's energy could organically soften its original colors. Once neutralized, it was overdyed in purple and washed, revealing deep, vibrant hues that make each piece a one-of-a-kind work of art. The dye takes differently on each shade of the original design, which is why the pattern shows through tone on tone instead of disappearing. You may notice lighter and deeper areas of purple across the surface. That layered, uneven color is the signature of an overdyed rug, and together with the hand-tied knots it gives the rug its own personality. Underfoot the wool pile is soft and dense, made to handle daily use in busy rooms.
It holds a full living room seating group, a dining table for six to eight, or a spacious primary bedroom. The saturated purple color gives a boho chic, eclectic, or maximalist room its focal point, and it brings energy to a neutral, modern space with white walls and simple furniture.
