Oversized palmettes and flowing vines in navy, gold and ivory fill the red field from end to end, inside a blue border. Measuring 5'10'' x 8'7'', it is a 6x9 hand knotted Ziegler rug.

The flowing palmettes and vines of Ziegler rugs trace back to the court carpets of Persia, simplified and enlarged for a softer look. Its red field paired with a blue border gives it a rich and traditional character. It is hand knotted in Pakistan with the Turkish double knot, using hand-spun wool with a long staple and high lanolin content. Stone-washing and sun-drying soften the pile and give it a natural sheen and a softly aged, antique look.
